The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has initially confirmed that the kidnapping of road rage killer Rolito Go inside the minimum security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in MuntinlupaCity last August 14th was well-established.

NBI Director Nonnatus Rojas told in an interview yesterday that the testimonies made by Go matched with the results of the ocular investigation the agency conducted in Sto. Tomas, Batangas where he was brought.

“Evidence would tend to show that there was indeed abduction. The statements made by the victims were verified, they roads they took were traced and other details he revealed [i. e. description of the place] actually matched with what our people found in the field,” he said.

The agency also determined the presence of Go and his nephew and nursing aide Clemence Yu inside the NBP compound on the night he was abducted.

However, he said that the agency is not discounting the possibility that he was involved in his own abduction.

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima added that she would want Go, Yu and his sister to undergo lie detector test to verify the legitimacy of their statements.

“We want to be careful by saying it’s not yet conclusive, and the evidence so far would tend to show that claims of forcible taking was legitimate, or bona fide. Kaya lang, ang tanong: ano ‘yun? What was the purpose of the abduction?” she said. “Pinakawalan sila agad; it was doubtful na ransom talaga ang pakay. They asked for a very high amountfirst , then brought it down to P1 million. Until pinag-withdraw na lang siya sa ATM ng P40,000 and ‘yun lang ang nakuha.”

Both NBI and DoJ will also look on the chances of a ‘kidnap-me’ angle. “To be honest, mukhang remote ‘yun,” she remarked.

The said agencies, the Philippine National Police and the Anti-Kidnapping Group will call for a joint case conference next week to compare their findings.
